Dougal and his team were on the project for close for two years and did an exemplary job.  The quality of the workmanship and care taken could not be faulted.  Although the job was of an extended duration, Dougal did not lapse in his commitment to the project and worked extended hours and weekends to ensure the work was done to time and quality.  For masonry novices, we were in awe of the painstaking job it was for the team to carefully select the right size and colour and quality that made up the schist jigsaw that in the end was our house. 

The craftmanship and the patience exhibited was quite remarkable, and it left us with a home that is both beautifully constructed and beautiful to look at.

I used Dougal for the stone work on a build at Jacks Point, this consisted of the bagged schist look at the house entrance, to mix in with steel work as well as an outdoor fire.

I always found Dougal informative of what would work or look best, he provided samples of the colours of stone to match in with the build.

In recent times we have built a new house in Te Anau and contracted Keystone owned by DOUGAL PENETITO to undertake the stone work on the exterior of the house plus the two interior stone open fireplaces.

This building could well be described as high spec of unconventional design utilising log beam construction with stone work around the exterior to the window sills.

There was a requirement for all workmanship to be to the highest quality throughout the build.

Keystone delivered on all the requirements to ensure time frames were met and quality of workmanship was to a very high standard.

Staff were always punctual, polite, accommodating, tidy, diligent, honest and friendly.

Stone for this build was river worn/washed (with limited flat sides) and had to be sourced 5 km. from the building site. Daily excursions were required to the quarry in the search for suitable corner stones which was a mission on its own plus a requirement for lateral shaped stone rather than round stone . This required picking over massive amounts of stone.

Keystone Masonry just got on with the job, and the finished product is a testimony to the quality of work that they can deliver.
